Private WOrk - Mini Project
I was approached by a Private Client to explore some internally remodelling options for a private residential property, initially looking at feasibility options and then assisting with detailed the detailed design stage and being a defacto project manager once a builder had been appointed.
Minimal impact on the existing home and cost were a key factor of the project. The aim was to utilise a rear sunroom currently being underutilised as an office and convert it into a utility room. Access directly off the kitchen was planned while looking to update the kitchen and bring some contemporary elements into their home. The clients had two large dogs which they loved deeply but had nowhere to wash them down, so wanted a buffer zone between outside and the warm zones of the house.
NewcaSTLE Complete mASTERS PORTFOLIO
Contained within these pages is a complete representation of the various projects and pieces of work I undertook during my two years of studying for my Masters of Architecture at Newcastle University. It features a variety of pieces of work, from an investigation into the issues of Immigration within Rotterdam (Urban Hacking - Majority Minority), a some what dismissive analysis of Architectural Education (Tools For Thinking About Architecture) and finally a brief covering of the my first completed On-Site project (Linked Research - Live Build) of which the complete submitted drawings / documents can be found below, with an overview of favourite images from across the process can be found HERE.
Linked Research - Live Build
Below is a collection of all the documentation which was submitted for the formal marking of this module, in which me and my fellow members of the group were awarded a Distinction Grade fro our efforts. The more relevant marking however comes from the success of the project to fulfil the needs set down by our clients Kielder Art & Architecture. Articles from the KA&A can be found HERE & HERE, along with additional articles by the Architecture Journal HERE and Newcastle University Website HERE.
